How much should a bar stool cost?

It is amazing to me when dealing with the public . People will drive the lastest car and not blink an eye and spend 20 -40 thousand dollars. Some of these people come in and think a bar stool can be bought for $50. Now they can buy a bar stool for $50 but it is not one they want to put in their home. The furniture industry has to be the worst when it comes to adding sex appeal to its products. The Car business, electronics business, clothing business, sneaker business, all have managed to make their products worth value. Not the furniture industry we have failed .
I have been in this business since 1971. At that time a Luxury home could be bought for $40,000 . I am taking a 5 bedroom with 3-4 bathrooms . During that period the firm I worked for had a 5 Piece Bedroom set which sold for $499. Thirty nine years later that home goes for $859,000. The bedroom still can be bought for $499. There is something wrong with this picture. We sell bar stools from $36-$1000. You can not get a look and features of 1000 barstool in a 36 dollar stool. In the 1970's we made most of the furniture we sold in the states. That is not the case now. We import most everything now . When Sam Walton was alive his slogan was buy American now his company is the largest importer from China on the Planet. Walmart buys nothing made in America except candy, food products. Prices for bar stools are as low as they are going to be. The dollar is weakening against every currency so be prepared to pay more for everything. Inventory levels from all retailers are at the lowest points in history. You will have to learn to wait for things as that all retailers are afraid to be stuck with slow moving products. The days of too many choice is coming to an end. The customer who says I need sometime to jump out at me before is going not to have a bar stool. This is the time to buy unlike the realeaste market people stuck up side down willing to give things away. Furniture Dealers must pay their suppliers to get goods and they are not about to buy it for $50 and sell it to you for $25. They can not make it up in volume. So you bargain hunters start shopping now it aint going to be cheaper later.

Well folks I am getting on my soap box. When we were a rural nation shop keepers were not easy to find that is what started Montgomery Wards , Sears the catalog business. The internet has evolved much in the same way. If you can't find a local retailer that carries bar stools I get it . Now comes the part when you find a small business owner that has a display and selection like we do. Over 200 bar stools in every style under the sun, why would you than shop to get that very same bar stool from an out of state suppliers to save paying sales tax ? This really bugs me how short sighted people have become. First we do not charge sales tax we collect it . This revenue is used to fund our schools, roads, police, fire departments, government building and yes our political leaders. Do not you realize this? Every time you purchase to not pay sales tax it hurts our community. We also have people that say I saw it on the internet and it was $5 cheaper, I love this one . My answer is yes ,but don't you realize you have to put that together and the one I am showing you has been assembled and inspected for you. When they say I would rather save the $5 , I say fine I won't put yours together and save you the $5. Listen we all are trying to make it through this very tough economy but beating up the local merchant is not going to help any of us. All too often consumers believe that retailers are making too much on their hard earned income. This is laughable in today's age small retailers are dropping like flies . They have no advocates in government The Small business Association is really the Big business Association. I ask you to support all you local business because if we don't we all will suffer. Shop and buy locally. I have included a review from an Internet site which we have to compete with" I thought the stools were a terrific value, however not sure they will last. There was a crack in the back of the top/seat.The assembly was difficult because wooden 'dollies' simply didn't fit properly in the holes. I put them together but they don't seem secure, not sure they will last. I must say when I called and mentioned that seat was cracked, I was sent a replacement immediately. I was very tempted to simply return the items entirely, but I had already put together and decided to keep. Something tells me I will be looking for new stools in a couple of months". These are stools which we sell for the same exact price ,however this person would have never had to put them together and we would have seen the crack and returned it to the supplier before any customer would have received . This is why you should buy locally Thanks Stool Crazy .

Consumers must understand not everything imaged by them is made. I love when someone comes into one of our locations and says is this everything you have ? Now mine you we display over 200 styles on our floor. When we first started 18 years ago specializing on this category people would say wow too many choices . Now with the Internet and Internet dealers only investment in inventory is a picture which they get free. It seems consumers think that there are hundreds of thousands of bar stools out there. Not the case this is only the smallest of categories manufacturing furniture. We have shopped every market, sat in every stool and know what is in the market. You can't always get what you want be you can get what you need. We have designed and constantly have manufactures made aware what the end user you are looking for and sometimes it is an up hill battle, believe me. So when we say it's is not made we mean it. Price also has to be a consideration. The days of $50 bar stools is over. Not much worth buying to support a 200 lbs person is made for $50. I also love the people who come in and say you know I have to buy two. For those of you out there our average customer buys 3.5 bar stools no one buys just one. We hate when we are left with one bar stool we may as well throw it out very rarely does some one come along for one.If we have it on our floor you can be sure it is well made, comfortable, a value , in fashion. You do not want to buy a bar stool with out sitting on it believe me. Happy Stools to you for now.
Why do I think hydraulic bar stools are the greatest thing since sliced bread ?

After being in this business for over 17 years and in the furniture business for now over 35 years. I have learned that the manufactures have always been behind the curve. They react very slowly to the customers needs. The retailer on the other hand always wants what the customer is seeking . When we first set out to specialize in selling bar stools we found it very challanging to have in stock what every customer wanted when we had the right stlye stool the customer need counter height and the reverse was also true. We tried to stock both heights than the finish was wrong . It seemed like a no win situation along came the great Idea of using a gas lift which would adjust with ease . Wow now we had knocked the error rate in half now all we had to worry about was fabric ,finish, style, comfort, price we were cooking with gas now. Our customer love them also because now if they move they can take their bar stools with them it will adjust to their new home. Families with childern love them because now the kids can sit as heigh as the adults. The hydraulic bar stool has become a win win for all involed. Now that is progress when all parties win. Thanks for reading Have Great day!
Why do men like swivel Bar stools ?

Speaking as a man we love to sit on our throne . When we are sitting in a swivel bar stool we feel like a king . I have yet to meet the man that does not want to swivel, then add arms and he is in heaven. The ladies on the other hand are looking for style they are more into fashion and how it will look in their kitchen . They jump from stool to stool never agreeing which one is for them is for them. It is very funny to watch usually in the end the ladies win out and get exactly what they want. Who say's they are the weaker sex ?

Hello everyone ! We at Barstools To Go have been specializing in bar stools for over 17 years. When we first opened up a showroom in Boca Raton Florida we were amazed at how little the public new about seating and proper comfort. People would come in and say I need a Bar stool and not know or even think to measure the hight of the area. Soon we realized it would be our job to inform and educate every person that walked into our door. We made it a practice to teach all about bar stools , we even taught manufactures soon manufactures were call upon us to design bar stools for them. The rest was history now many companies have tried to copy us and a once specialty concept has been attempted to be duplicated . However they do not even come close. We will not sell an inferior product it must sit well , be constructed well or forget. We have your Stool!
What is you first step in looking for Bar stools?

First thing size it does matter. You must measure the area which you would like to use the seating for. I have been selling Bar stools for 17 years now and most people do not have a clue about this. So be aware of this hear is the simple rule. Seating for the most part comes in 3 different heights. Tables use chairs, Counters use Counter stools, Higher than your sink is usually Bar stools. Now for the inches this becomes a confusing point for man people so pay attention. First off understand most bar stools are made to certain standards. You for the most part cannot be any height you want. Chairs which are made for tables which the furniture industry has determined are usually 18-20 inches for the seat. Counter stools are 24-26 inches for the seat. Bar stools are 29-30 inches for the seat. That is it if a company makes their counter stools at 24" and you like the look it will not also come at 26". The same is true for the reverse. Only hydraulic stools which have become very popular allow you to customize your height. Now some manufactures will custom cut your stool but this becomes expensive and again restricts your choice.
