I have been in this business since 1971. At that time a Luxury home could be bought for $40,000 . I am taking a 5 bedroom with 3-4 bathrooms . During that period the firm I worked for had a 5 Piece Bedroom set which sold for $499. Thirty nine years later that home goes for $859,000. The bedroom still can be bought for $499. There is something wrong with this picture. We sell bar stools from $36-$1000. You can not get a look and features of 1000 barstool in a 36 dollar stool. In the 1970's we made most of the furniture we sold in the states. That is not the case now. We import most everything now . When Sam Walton was alive his slogan was buy American now his company is the largest importer from China on the Planet. Walmart buys nothing made in America except candy, food products. Prices for bar stools are as low as they are going to be. The dollar is weakening against every currency so be prepared to pay more for everything. Inventory levels from all retailers are at the lowest points in history. You will have to learn to wait for things as that all retailers are afraid to be stuck with slow moving products. The days of too many choice is coming to an end. The customer who says I need sometime to jump out at me before is going not to have a bar stool.This is the time to buy unlike the realeaste market people stuck up side down willing to give things away. Furniture Dealers must pay their suppliers to get goods and they are not about to buy it for $50 and sell it to you for $25. They can not make it up in volume. So you bargain hunters start shopping now it aint going to be cheaper later.
